James is a partner and Head of the Funds at Hassans International Law Firm. He has advised the Government of Gibraltar on its funds legislation and was involved in the drafting of the Experience Investor Funds Regulations, and is currently leading the group developing a code of conduct and regulations for funds investing in crypto assets. James has been re-elected as GFIA chairman, and has been on the executive holding senior positions for the last 9 years.

Jay was called to the Bar in England and Wales and Gibraltar in 2010 and is a member of the Financial Services team at Triay & Triay. He has developed a strong reputation as an expert in the financial services sector and regularly advises prospective funds, investment managers, insurance companies and banks on licensing requirements and regulatory, operational, passporting and distribution matters. He is recognised by Legal 500 as a “Rising Star” in this sector.

He has been elected on numerous occasions by the legal community in Gibraltar to represent them on the executive body of GFIA and has played an integral role in drafting numerous changes to Gibraltar law. Jay is also very active in the FinTech space and advises a fairly large number of crypto / blockchain businesses and has advised on numerous token sales. Jay is also recognised by Legal 500 in this respect.

Moe, a Chartered Accountant and founder partner of RSM Gibraltar, formerly Benady Cohen & Co, Chartered Accountants. He has over 20 years of professional services experience in audit, tax, financial services, funds, restructuring and insolvency, due diligence and advisory. Moe was previously a partner in Deloitte specialising in insurance companies, hedge funds, banks and a number of large private clients. RSM is the 6th largest international network in the world.

Heather is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a director of Juno Fund Services Limited. She has over 10 years of financial services experience. She has a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in International Business and Management and is currently developing the administration practice of funds investing in crypto assets.

Yan Delgado (Marketing)

Yan spent 25 years in Investment and Private Banking; trading options, bonds and leading top sales teams. He was worked for Indosuez and Credit Agricole (in Paris and London) and Credit Suisse (Gibraltar). He graduated from La Sorbonne and Columbia Business School. Yan is the current Chief Executive Officer of Hyperion Group which he manages with Raymond Kirsche. He has obtained a Professional Certificate of Competence in Gibraltar Law at the University of Gibraltar. Yan brings a multicultural perspective to the firm and is fluent in French, English, Spanish, Hebrew and Arabic. Pursuing the strong vision of bridging Souls and Lands, he founded the Gibraltar World Music Festival in 2012 and the BrightMed (an international peace reunion in Gibraltar) in 2016.

Benjy Cuby heads business development at Finsbury Trust, a leading independent provider of corporate, trust and fund services in Gibraltar. Prior to joining Finsbury Trust, Benjy spent a decade working as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and UBS in New York, London and Tel Aviv. During his time in banking, Benjy specialized in originating and executing cross-border mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance transactions, including equity public offerings, loan and bond financings and private placements, across a range of industries with a focus on technology innovation and life sciences. Prior to this Benjy was a Business Consultant at Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting Division in London where he completed financial and business consultancy engagements specializing in strategic planning, business planning and valuation.

Benjy received his BSc Economics specializing in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics and his MBA specializing in Finance from Columbia Business School. Benjy is a licensed professional company director and an authorised Experienced Investment Fund Director in Gibraltar. Benjy serves on the boards of a number of technology and life science innovation companies and investment funds. Benjy has served on the GFIA board since 2012 and is the editor of GFIA’s “Gibraltar Funds & Managers – A guide to setting up in Gibraltar”.


David Diez de Artazcoz (Investment Managers Committee)

David is member of the GFIA’s Executive Committee since June 2016. He is Atlantic Financial Group's Chief Investment Officer with over fifteen years’ experience in discretionary portfolio management and investment advisory for private and institutional clients (pension funds). He is specialised in putting together personalised investment solutions and in using sophisticated vehicles. He previously worked at Lombard Odier & Cie for fourteen years in their Lausanne, Geneva, Amsterdam and Gibraltar offices, and for two years at Synopsis Asset Management in Lausanne. David is fluent in Spanish, French and English.

Faith Howe (Auditors Committee)

Faith is a Senior Manager at EY. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree and has over 12 years of experience in audit and assurance having qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and trained with EY in the Philippines since 2005. Faith relocated to Gibraltar in 2007 to work with Baker Tilly (Gibraltar) Limited as an Audit Senior and moved across to EY Gibraltar in 2013 where she carried on her role as an Audit Manager.

In Gibraltar, she developed her experience on the statutory and regulatory audits of companies in the financial services sector (primarily funds and asset management firms) reporting under Gibraltar GAAP or the International Financial Reporting Standards. Faith also took the opportunity for a short-term secondment in the Funds division of the FSC in the last quarter of 2014. She was an active member of the GFIA marketing committee during 2013/2014.

Faith currently manages the Wealth and Asset Management and Banking and Capital Markets audit portfolio of EY Gibraltar.


Jonathan Garcia (Lawyers Committee)

Jonathan Garcia was involved in shaping Gibraltar’s company legislation, which led to a full-scale review and overhaul of the legislation, and advised the Government of Gibraltar on introducing a new business entity previously not in existence. He is currently advising various blockchain start-ups on raising finance through initial coin offerings and on obtaining regulatory authorisations for carrying out their business activities, and part of the Fintech think -established by the firm, thinkFintech.gi.

Jonathan was recently booked to speak at various blockchain events, including the European Commerce Registers’ Forum 21st annual conference (http://www.ecrforum.org/), at a private event hosted by the Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange (https://www.gsx.gi/article/9445/gibraltar-house-london-exclusive-update-seminar-15th-january) and at Technische Universität Berlin on Token Regulation in the EU (https://www.bundesblock.de/2018/06/03/discussion-of-token-regulation-in-the-eu/). He recently participated in the Blockchain Bundesverband (Association for the Promotion of Blockchain Technology in Germany) working group on Token Regulation. Very recently, he has been elected to the executive committee of the Gibraltar Funds and Investments Association (GFIA) as it considers updates to legislative positions and innovative products in the crypto space.

Aaron is a Partner at Hassans International Law Firm. He is a Funds and FinTech lawyer with a Degree in Mathematics and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. His work focuses around traditional funds, crypto funds, distributed ledger technology (DLT), blockchain, initial coin offerings (ICOs), security tokens and virtual currencies. In his spare time, Aaron plays football and is capped as a full international for Gibraltar.

Derek Baglietto is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers “ACIB”, and supplemented his studies under the Securities Institute focusing on Fund Management and Investment Analysis. During 2018 he completed the Oxford Said Blockchain Strategy Programme.

He was employed by Credit Suisse Private Banking for 23 years gaining wide experience in various areas including Credit, Financial Control, Portfolio Management, Investment Consulting and Heading the Client support team. In 1997 Credit Suisse created an Institutional team providing services to Funds and Asset Managers and Derek was instrumental in developing this.

He joined Turicum Bank in October 2016, as Senior Relationship Manager with a focus on developing an Institutional Desk. The desk provides services and solutions to Fintech companies, intermediaries and individuals for fund, company, trust structures and private accounts.
