GFIA Investment Seminar: AI & Beyond

GFIA’s first Investment Seminar of 2026, “AI & Beyond! — Where Innovation Meets Investment Opportunity,” brought together members and guests at the Sunborn Gibraltar Yacht Hotel for an insightful afternoon exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and capital markets.

The event featured Adam Baranowski (AWS AGI Foundations), who provided a behind-the-scenes look at generative AI, large language models, real-world deployment, inference economics, and realistic AGI timelines.

From an investor’s perspective, Dr. Tomasz Godziek (J. Safra Sarasin) examined current AI market dynamics, valuation frameworks, and the broader technological themes emerging beyond AI — including space tech, genomics, and quantum computing.

The session concluded with a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Tim Rickson, head of the GFIA Training Committee and Director and Head of Investment Consulting at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, offering attendees both technical clarity and strategic investment insight.
