The GFIA Story

GFIA (Gibraltar Funds & Investments Association) is a non-profit organisation. It was formed in 1996 under the original name GASIM (Gibraltar Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Managers) and was renamed in 2009 to include Fund Managers. GFIA’s membership today is comprises Stockbrokers, Law Firms, Banks, Audit Firms, Investment Managers, Fund Managers & Administrators as well as individuals involved in the financial sector in Gibraltar.

All members of GFIA are licenced by the GFSC (Gibraltar Financial Services Commission) in Gibraltar and are rigorously compliant with local regulations enforced by regulatory bodies..

 

 

 
 

As an industry body representing investment fund managers, asset managers and service providers, our focus is on:

 

  1. establishing a recognised medium for communication between our industry, decision makers and other professional bodies and to encourage the exchange of information amongst them;

  2. encouraging and promoting the continued professional development of our industry;

  3. promoting Gibraltar as a jurisdiction of choice for our industry;

  4. promoting adherence by our members with the principles of investor protection, corporate governance, compliance and professionalism in their investment and fund activities;

  5. providing a forum for communication and discussion between our members on matters that are of interest to our members and to lobby as required;

  6. promoting cooperation, collegiality and respect between our members.
