Gibraltar Day Events in London 2022

On Wednesday 2nd November, the Hon Albert Isola MP in his capacity as Minister for Digital and Financial Services, hosted a funds and asset managers’ breakfast at the National Liberal Club in London as part of the Gibraltar Day in London. The breakfast event was supported by the Gibraltar Funds & Investments Association and included participation by its individual member firms.

This was part of all full week of events in London covering a range of Financial Services industries.

A total of circa 175 investment professionals attended the event with a very significant majority being UK based; including asset managers, fund administrators and professional service providers such as lawyers and accountants.

Minister Albert Isola greeted delegates with a wonderful speech reiterating the close relationship the regulator and the industry have, this was followed by a brilliant speech by GFIA Chairman James Lasry who described the innovation and creation of products to market during the Covid period, this was then followed by an insightful panel discussion on Gibraltar's offering and why you should look to Gibraltar to establish your Fund.

The panel included licensees on why they chose the Rock, the local legal sector and the Regulator.

International participants on the panel were, Samuel Hapák, Anthony Bodenstein, Esq. MCSI. and Federico Corbari. The panel was moderated by Jerome Lussan the CEO and Founder of Laven Partners.

It was a pleasure to be again with many friends and clients to discuss the many advantages of setting up a fund in Gibraltar and for GFIA to also be present and explain further what we do for the industry.
